Opposition Barred in Iranian Election
Posted February 19th, 2008 by aaronAs President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's approval plummets in Iran, his opposition is barred from running in the upcoming parliamentary elections held on March 14, 2008.
Candidates are vetted by the interior ministry before they are allowed to stand for election to the parliamentary. Out of the 7,000 hopeful candidates, nearly 3,000 have been disqualified.
Iranian President Loses Support

Middle East is a Top Concern among American Voters

It is critical for the U.S. to improve its image in the Middle East and to do all it can to help stabilize the region.



Foreign journalists have been largely censored from covering protests in Iran over the re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Twitter has emerged as the primary communication tool, both for protesters to organize, and for outside news organizations to gain insight into what's happening in Tehran.
